This year we will be partnering with the Windsor fire fighters in support of  SPARKY’S TOY DRIVE FOR CHILDREN”

The mission of Sparky’s Toy Drive is to make a real difference for struggling families in our community; The volunteers from the fire department who run Spark’s Toy Drive have always made a concerted effort to help the less fortunate. These are families that struggle to pay their living expenses and don’t often have much left over for the little extras that so many of us take for granted. We also provide toys to a very large group of new immigrants and refugees, many of whom are experiencing their first Christmas in Canada.

MORE ABOUT THE WINDSOR FIREFIGHTER'S AND SPARKY'S TOY DRIVE

The Windsor Firefighter’s Benefit Fund is the sponsor of the Sparky’s Toy Drive program. This program has a long-time tradition of helping to provide local needy families with new toys and clothes for their 14-and-under aged children at Christmas. All families requesting assistance are required to register in mid-November with appropriate documentation to show financial need. We count on the generosity of the businesses and citizens of Essex County to keep this program operating. New toys are donated at the City of Windsor Fire Halls, and at various commercial locations, that have generously agreed to place donation boxes at their places of business. We assure you; all monetary donations are one hundred percent utilized for toy drive purchases. Sparky’s Toy Drive is run entirely by volunteers and operates through the generosity of the people of Windsor & Essex County. The fire department’s team is currently headed by Bob Bailey, Sean Costello, and Rob Kouzoukas. Many other Windsor firefighters, both current and retired, work multiple hours picking up toys and assisting businesses in conducting charity events that help Sparky meet his quota. Rob and Lori Bremner lead the team of volunteers that handle the registering, packing and distribution of the donations. Advance Business Systems is extremely proud to be a part of the alliance that currently makes up Sparky’s Toy Drive for this holiday season. We are motivated by the gratitude of the families in need, as well as our pursuit of ‘giving back to the community’.

ABOUT THE ADVANCE BUSINESS SYSTEMS AMERICAN THANKSGIVING FOOTBALL EVENT

Advance Business Systems continues its support of Southwestern Ontario charities with their Annual American Thanksgiving Day Football Classic event.

Every year on every American Thanksgiving Day, Advance Business Systems, local businesses, and national companies across the country partner together to help a local children’s charity. For the past 28 years, Advance Business Systems has traditionally held this prestigious event as a ‘Customer Appreciation’ gathering for their clientele, which has now grown to become Southwestern Ontario’s premier networking event. Every year a charitable organization is selected on behalf of Advance Business Systems, whereby 100% of all incoming donations are collected and distributed to the chosen organization. Past recipients include Windsor Regional Hospital Surgical Safari, Make-A-Wish Foundation, The Downtown Windsor Business Accelerator, Children’s First, Family Respite Services, Children’s Aid Society Youth Committee, Farrow Riverside Miracle Park and many others. To date, this fun and exciting event has collected and donated over $200,000 to various organizations. Advance Business Systems continues to be very active in supporting many organizations within our community.

2018 American Thanksgiving Football Event

The 27th Annual Advance Business Systems American Thanksgiving Football Classic raised $13,000 for the Farrow Riverside Miracle Park.

Windsor, ON – The Farrow Riverside Miracle Park will be the recipient of $13,000 in generous donations from Advance Business Systems, local businesses and national companies stemming from the 27th Annual Advance Business Systems American Thanksgiving Day Football Customer Appreciation event held at the Windsor Yacht Club. “Farrow Riverside Children’s Miracle Park”

 

The CHILDREN’S MIRACLE PARK will be a dynamic community space with a Miracle Field so children with disabilities can fulfill their dream of playing baseball. The park includes an inclusive and accessible playground so that all children can play together, regardless of ability; a prominently relocated Cenotaph; a walking path; and public gathering space.

Windsor, ON – The Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Society (YAC) will be the recipient of $11,000 in generous donations from Advance Business Systems, local businesses and national companies stemming from their recent 26th Annual Advance Business Systems American Thanksgiving Day Football Customer Appreciation event held at the Windsor Yacht Club. YAC promotes advocacy for youth in care of the Children’s Aid Society. Over the last 8 years, YAC has grown from 5 youth around a table to a group of 20 plus young people, ages 12 to 20 who receive services from the Children’s Aid Society.

The specific project that will be impacted by the Advance Party is, Creating Connections for Life.  It will provide YAC with technology that will allow them to expand their presence at local, provincial and national meetings and events where they have a presence at the table.  It will in many cases bring these activities to them.

The YAC group is an inspiration to all of us and are examples of how every child can aspire to his or her dreams with the support and encouragement of those who believe in them.
